Finnair pilots represented by the Finnish Air Line Pilots' Assn. will strike for a second consecutive day today, forcing the airline to cancel its entire program of more than 200 scheduled flights.AY said leisure flights operated by management pilots will continue "with the help of leasing arrangements" and that "individual changes" to the schedule "are possible." The strike, which also affected Finnair's Sunday schedule, will cost the airline €2-€5 million per day, according to various press reports. Pilots rejected a settlement proposal last Friday, leaving Finnair "totally stunned," it said. Senior VP-Human Resources Anssi Komulainen said the airline would have accepted any of the three mediator proposals presented over the past 18 months. "Now we are forced to come up with totally new solutions in order to secure the future of the company," he said. The union said, "The proposal by the state mediator allowed unlimited use of outside workforce, and did not offer pilots any work security. We cannot sign such a proposal."

TCAS II version 7.1 Following extensive EUROCONTROL input and pressure, a revised TCAS II Minimum Operational Performance Standards (MOPS) document has been jointly developed RTCA and EUROCAE. During a joint session in March 2008, the RTCA SC (Special Committee) 147 and EUROCAE WG (Working Group) 75 agreed on the final version of the TCAS II MOPS, to be known as TCAS II version 7.1. The MOPS were approved the RTCA Program Management Committee in June 2008 (document DO-185B) and by the EUROCAE Council in September 2008 (document ED-143).The MOPS were revised following the identification by EUROCONTROL of two safety issues in the existing TCAS logic (one relating to the performance of the RA-reversal logic, and the other involving incorrect responses to Adjust Vertical Speed RAs). Soms zijn symptomen van een beroerte moeilijk te identificeren. Ongelukkiglijk, het gemis aan opmerkzaamheid loopt bijna altijd uit op een ramp. Het slachtoffer van een beroerte kan ernstige letsels overhouden indien de mensen bij wie hij is, de symptomen niet tijdig herkennen. 

Dokters zeggen dat een omstaander een aanval kan herkennen door het stellen van vier simpele vragen:

G * GLIMLACHEN: Vraag de persoon om te GLIMLACHEN (de mondhoeken moeten beiden simultaan omhoog gaan).

A * ARMEN OMHOOG STEKEN: Vraag hem de ARMEN ALLEBEI OP TE STEKEN  (de armen moeten beide gelijktijdig en met dezelfde moeite omhoog te tillen zijn).

S * SPREKEN: Vraag de persoon om te SPREKEN, om een SIMPEL ZINNETJE TE ZEGGEN (Coherent, bv: 'Het is zonnig vandaag' er mag geen gebrabbel tussen zijn)

T * TONG: Vraag de persoon om zijn tong uit te steken. Als de tong scheef trekt, als deze naar de ene of andere kant trekt, is dat ook een teken van een beroerte. 

Als hij of zij moeite heeft met eender welke van deze taken, bel dan onmiddellijk 100 of 112 en beschrijf de symptomen aan de dispatcher. Benadruk dat er haast is geboden !
